Light-Field Induced
Phase Transitions.
Conventional optical switches are mechanical. They move mirrors. This limits speed to milliseconds.
Our approach is quantum. As described in US Patent #12,174,116, we utilize a dielectric system that undergoes an ultrafast phase transition when exposed to a specific light field.
- 01.The material properties (refractive index) change in attoseconds.
- 02.This allows for petahertz-scale switching speeds, effectively zero latency.
- 03.The signal tunnels through the modified lattice without conversion to electrons.
Ultrafast
Switching occurs at the speed of electron orbit perturbation.
Dielectric
Solid-state insulator becomes optically active on demand.
